Ellie Ivanova Ponti was born in Bulgaria, but she currently lives in Texas, USA, where she teaches literatures and cultures. She has also lived in Latin America where she has worked with NGOs, educational institutions (Fe y alegría) and universities.
Her essays have appeared in scholarly journals such as Romance Review, Confluencia, La coronica, Italian Studies, as well as newspapers and weeklies.
