Julie Farkas grew up in Natchez, MS and attended Tulane University. While at Tulane, she fell in love with New Orleans, staying after graduation for another eight years. She worked with her sister at the Lee Barnes Cooking School and Gourmet Shop, and wrote restaurant reviews for Gambit Magazine.

With her husband, Richard, she has travelled to Tibet twice, and their pictures of this magical place have been shown in galleries around their hometown, Lexington, KY. They are the co-founders of the Tibetan Buddhist Community of Lexington (www.tbcl.org).

She is currently working on a novel, Morning Call. The short stories on this site are excerpts from this work in progress.
