Barry George

Barry George is a regular contributor to leading English-language haiku and tanka journals in North America, Europe, Australia, and Japan. His work has appeared in German, French, Romanian, and Japanese translations; and has been selected for the anthologies, A New Resonance 2: Emerging Voices in English-Language Haiku (U.S.), The New Haiku (U.K.), and eight of the annual “Best Haiku of the Year” Anthologies published by Red Moon Press.

A winner in numerous international contests, including the Haiku Society of America, Haiku Canada, Mainichi Daily News (Tokyo), and Tanka Splendor competitions, he has also been a Poetry Finalist for the Pew Fellowships in the Arts. He has presented haiku and tanka workshops as a guest poet at the Robert Frost Poetry Festival in Key West, Florida, and has been the featured haiku poet-of-the-month on Cornell University’s Mann Library web site. With his wife Heidi and cats, Avi and Naia, he lives in Philadelphia.
