Denitsa Dilova-Markova

Denitsa Dilova-Markova was born on 14th of July, 1973 in Bulgaria. She lived in Cherven Briag (North-Central Bulgaria) as a child and later moved to the city of Razgrad in the Northeast. There she attended a school with emphasis in Fine Arts and graduated from a technological college, but, as it turned out later, she would never work in the field of biotechnologies. She started working with NGOs instead. She has conceived and carried out projects targeting young people, ethnic communities and disabled people.

Denitsa has been working as a journalist and fiction writer since 2004. Her short stories and articles have been published in the Express Magazine and on several literature websites. She has a gift for comic literature and two of her short stories won the audience award in the Eyes For Yourself Competition organized by the literary website hulite.net and she received an honorable mention award.

Denitsa has been working as the Editor-in-Chief of Ludogorski Vestnik since 2006, where she found a new passion for photography. Denitsa is married and has two daughters. Among her favourite authors are Gerald Durrell, Lawrence Durrell, H.H. Munro (Saki), Ray Bradbury, Henry Miller.
