Dessislava was born in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria.
She studied at the universities of Sofia, Dresden, Aachen and Berlin and worked several years in the field of intellectual property rights.
In her jobs she had the chance to gain a lot of experience communicating with different International and European organizations, preparing and conducting interviews with artists and authors, writing legal and press texts, preparing presentations, conducting internet searches, managing the press content of intranet sites, conducting patent, utility model and design searches and organizing cultural events and trainings for the staff.
