JoAnn LoVerde-Dropp was raised in upstate New York where she often visited and gained inspiration from the statue and story of Mary Jemison, “The White Woman of the Genesee.” She is currently working on a book-length series of poems based on her heroine’s journey while earning her MFA in Creative Writing from Spalding University.

JoAnn currently lives in Kennesaw, Georgia with her husband and two children, and is a member of the Georgia Writers Association.
