Joy Ladin is David and Ruth Gottesman Professor of English. Her third book of poetry, Transmigration, is forthcoming from Sheep Meadow press, which also published her first, Alternatives to History, and second, The Book of Anna. She has just completed a book of autobiographical reflections, pieces of which are scattered around the web, and another book of poetry, Coming to Life.
If she survives the rigors of teaching Comp this semester, she hope to finish revising a booklength study of the emergence of American modernist poetics. Born in Rochester, NY, she now lives in western Massachusetts.
