Marilyn Kallet

Marilyn Kallet is the author of 14 books, including CIRCE, AFTER HOURS, poetry from BkMk Press, and LAST LOVE POEMS OF PAUL ELUARD, translations from Black Widow Press.

She holds a Lindsay Young Professorship in English at the University of Tennessee, where she directed the creative writing program for 17 years.

Marilyn Kallet has performed her poetry in theaters and on campuses across the United States, and recently performed in Warsaw and Krakow as a guest of the United States’ embassy’s “America Presents” program. She teaches a poetry workshop for the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in Auvillar, France. Her blog on poetry and the writing life can be found at

In 2009, Black Widow Press will publish Kallet’s PACKING LIGHT: NEW AND SELECTED POEMS, as well as her translations of poetry by Surrealist poet Benjamin Peret.
