The team of the Public Republic Online Magazine is pleased to invite you to the multimedia Art Evening, organized with the support of the German-Bulgarian Society in Hamburg, the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin, the Society for Bulgarian-German Economic and Cultural Relations in Germany, Bulgarreklama and Accents, a US-based radio show for literature, art and culture.

The Art Evening will take place on June 11, 2009 (Thursday) at 7:30 pm, at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin (Leipziger Str. 114 – 115, D-10117 Berlin).
The bilingual program (Bulgarian and German) includes: a presentation of works by the winners of Public Republic’s Modern Times Literary and Photography Contests, a jazz and pop concert by Michelle, three short films (English and German subtitles), excerpts from the works of Bojana Apostolova and Ludmila Filipova, a photo exhibit by Ivan Kulekov, as well as other musical, theatrical and dance performances. There will be many pleasant surprises, too!
The Art Evening’s MC will be actor and director Nikolay Gunderov. Literary texts will be performed by NATFA actress Vessela Radeva.
Another program item is the exibition “bodies” with drawings of the Berlin-based artist Johanna Fassbender, who will attend the art event.
Some of the official guests who have confirmed their attendance so far are Oli Grueva (director of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin), Dr. Maya Naydenova (president of the German-Bulgarian Society in Hamburg), Bozhana Apostolova (poet, writer and publisher, Janet 45 Publishing House), Nikolay Gunderov (actor and director with the Satirical Theater, Sofia, Bulgaria) Dessislava Georgieva (translator), Ivan Kulekov (journalist), Ludmila Filipova (novelist).
A number of media outlets have been invited and will be in attendance as well.

Readers who cannot attend in person can still take part in the art event by sending us their own written works (essays, poetry, prose, literary criticism) and recorded performances (musical, theatrical, dance or visual, etc).
