Would you like to introduce yourself to our readers?

I’m a 17 year old girl currently living in  Norway. I started to take photos about a year ago and I am addicted.

It’s weird how an interest can turn your life upside down. From the moment I really started being serious about photography, I started seeing things from a whole different perspective. The things that no one else notices are the things I love the most.

A graveyard, rain, garbage and clouds are examples of things that inspire me. Especially clouds! Everything is so damn beautiful. I want to photograph everything I see. And when I say everything, I totally mean it. I love how photography makes me see this world just as beautiful as it is. And somehow it confuses me that I`m the only one I know that thinks of it that way.

The reason why I do conceptual photography is that I want to create unique photos. I want my photos to tell something, and I want people to think by looking at them.

I’m trying to capture feelings, because photography is how I express myself.

On Facebook your name appears as ‘Bildevilde’, why is that?

In Norwegian “bilde” is “image” and my name is Vilde. In Norwegian this rhymes, therefore “bildevilde”. I Kind of regret using bildevilde as a name, because many of my followes are from other countries and do not understand what it means.

Your photos are very outstanding, what do you pay attention to most when taking a picture?

I always focus on being innovative. I try to create images that people have not seen before. I want people to open their eyes to photography.

I feel the need to not always be realistic, and I have a need to explore other dimensions and worlds. Photography is an art in so many ways, and it does not always have to represent the truth.

I want my viewers to feel that they experienced something new when they see my photos.

How long have you been taking photos and what firstly inspired you to take pictures?

I have grown up in a rather artistic family with a mother as a painter and a photographer as a dad. My dad always talked about aperture and shutterspeed, which I in the beginning didn’t pay attention to or understood. About a year ago I got the hang of it, and started experimenting. It opened a door for me, and I now have my own way of understanding it.

What is your biggest inspiration?

Talented photographers, music, my feelings and traveling.

At such a young age, are you planning on dedicating the rest of your life to photography ? If no, what are your other plans for the future?

Get back to me in ten years. At this point I don’t want to do anything but photography. But I still don’t know if I’m capable of putting my artistic me aside to please the costumer. I’ll never put the camera away, but at this age I do not know whether I’ll be a professionale photographer for the rest of my life.

Your photos are very unusual, and full of fantasy. Do you believe in magic?

I believe in creativity and the ability to think outside the box. Where the magic exists I do not know, but I don’t deny it.

Are you working on any projects at the moment?

Not currently. The weather in Norway is difficult to work with at this time of the year. The variations are unpredictable.

I am a full-time student, and its dark when I leave and dark when I return home. That makes it almost impossible to take photos in daylight.
