Diaries

I am in the car and heading for the Burgas mall. Sifting through my handbag, I get out the pocket-sized notepad I carry around with me at all times when I’m out and about; just in case an idea emerges and I need to write it down.

There have been times when a brilliant idea has emerged in my mind and I find myself without-pen and unable to write it down. Writers have a tendency to forget things easily. In other words, we have an awful memory.
I would not call myself a lover of shopping.

My sister, on the hand, is completely the opposite. And although I don’t mind sauntering around the stores with her, I always end up, at the end of the day, holding all of her shopping bags.

Later on in the day, I made muffins. It was my first time, and as I’m rather inexperienced in the kitchen, it went really well – they tasted wonderful.

I find cooking quite therapeutic and because I spend most of the day either writing or reading and writing and reading, it’s great to focus on something other than books and words; even though when I cook I have to follow it from a recipe book.

After a messy afternoon in the kitchen, I decide to finish off some of yesterdays work on my laptop which involves a lot of editing and proofreading.

And to finish off the day, I take my dog out for a long walk around the beach. There is something beautiful about the beach at night. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is, but I really do love the beach when the sun is absent.
