Let’s think of the silent and golden Harpo Marx. In one scene of “Animal Crackers” there’s a stolen painting and the Inspector suspects Harpo to have nabbed it. In a classic clownish way, Harpo reveals things to the Inspector from under his coat, many of which make noise: a flute, a horn, a trumpet. Others are just everyday things. Pulling all these out of his odd shaped body he innocently shrugs at the crowd pretending not to know the hiding place.
