After its incredible success this spring when it was selected for a stage reading among more than 400 plays at the annual hotINK Festival, Ivan Dimitrov’s play The Eyes of Others is ready to move one step forward and be produced in NYC.

The play will be produced by Bug Company this September and will be presented by the New Ohio Theatre where it will open their 2012-13 season.

In order for that to happen however, the team needs our support. See how you can help the play be staged by visiting the funding project’s website or simply scroll down:

Ivan Dimitrov was born in 1983 and has a degree in Bulgarian philology.

He has authored the collection of short stories “Local foreigners”, the novel “Life as a missing spoon” and the poetry collection “Poet of a Portrait”. He was ranked among the final five contestants at the annual festival “Sofia Poetics.”

In the same year his play “The Eyes of Others” became one of the five winners in the competition for contemporary Bulgarian drama of “Sofia Theatre.” It was also awarded the first prize in the “Author’s Interpretation” category of the contest marking the twentieth anniversary of the “Drumevi Praznici” Festival and was featured in this year’s edition of the New York-based hotINK Festival.

The play has been translated from Bulgarian by Angela Rodel
